Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026
Clipwise is a browser extension that saves web pages into Notion. This policy explains what data it handles and where that data goes. Short version: your clipped content goes from your browser straight to Notion, and we don't collect or sell personal data.
What the extension handles
- Page content you choose to clip. When you click Save, the extension reads the current page (or your selection) in your browser and sends it directly to Notion's API (api.notion.com) to create a page in the database you picked. It is never sent to Clipwise servers.
- Notion access tokens. When you connect Notion, you authorize Clipwise through Notion's official sign-in. The resulting access token is stored only in your browser's extension storage and used only to call Notion's API.
- Settings. Your selected databases, templates, tags and clip counter are stored in your browser's extension storage. If Chrome sync is on, templates may sync across your Chrome browsers through your Google account.
- License key. If you buy Pro, your license key is stored in the extension and checked with Polar (api.polar.sh) to confirm your subscription is active.
Our server
Clipwise runs one small service on Cloudflare Workers whose only job is to complete Notion's sign-in: it exchanges the one-time code Notion gives your browser for an access token, using Clipwise's private app credentials, and returns the token to your browser. It does not store or log tokens, page content or personal data. Cloudflare may keep standard technical request logs (such as IP address and time) as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Payments
Purchases are handled by Polar Software, Inc., our merchant of record. Polar collects your payment details, email and billing country to process payments and taxes, under Polar's own privacy policy. We receive order details such as your email and license status so we can provide support.
What we don't do
- No analytics, tracking pixels or advertising.
- No selling or sharing of data with third parties, other than Notion, Polar and Cloudflare as described above.
- No reading of pages you don't clip.
Chrome Web Store limited use
Clipwise's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the clipping feature you request.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored in your browser. You can also disconnect a workspace in Clipwise's settings, or revoke access in Notion under Settings → Connections. To ask about order data held by Polar, email us.
